1938 registered cover with boxed registration strike on front franked on reverse with 1935 1a myrtle-green & purple + 4a deep reddish purple & sage-green both tied 'TIKAMGARH / ORCHA STATE / 16 AP 38' cds with 'SATARA / ORCHA STATE / 17 AP 38' delivery cds. Note after SG 30 reads "Owing to the lack of proper State control considerable quantities of these stamps were circulated at below face value and the issue was subsequently withdrawn, supplies being exchanged for the 1939-1942 issue. We are, however, now satisfied that the lower values at least did genuine postal duty until 1939. Used prices are for stamps cancelled to order, postally used examples being worth considerably more." An extremely rare registered cover from this issue. 2025 ISES certificate.
