1901 local cover to Nahan franked with 1894-99 6p green tied by squared circle cancel with Nahan delivery cds on reverse. This is one of only three recorded non-philatelic local covers bearing a Sirmoor elephant stamp. Sirmoor stamps on local (within Sirmoor State) mail are virtually non-existent because the Sirmoor postal department had strict orders from the Maharaja of the State to remove all stamps from articles of mail prior to delivery. These used stamps were used to fulfil the demand for Sirmoor used stamps from overseas collectors. 2025 ISES certificate.
